Peripheral Vision
 

I had recently seen an exhibition of photographs, now so familiar, of Hiroshima, Japan, days after the August 6 atomic bombing of 1945. I allowed myself to imagine something of this reality to sweep across my hometown at the time, Sydney. The triptych comprises: on the right, this devastation made local; on the left a simulated video (remote controller’s) image of projected ground zero over the cityscape; and between these two, the hapless human.
